Snickers Cups

A clean ingredient, low calorie sweet treat

I'm always on the hunt for something that satisfies my sweet tooth but it's really hard to find healthy recipes that also are macro friendly. The original recipe for these snickers cups are only 145 calories a piece but you can modify the recipe to cut some more calories out.

Lower Calorie Ingredient Swaps

  • Swap milk for almond milk. A cup of reduced fat milk is approx. 130 calories whilst a cup of almond milk is approx. 30 calories

  • Swap peanut butter for pb2 - just make sure to mix it with a little water but be careful not to make it too watery because you want the sticky binding consistency. Personally, I prefer to use the regular peanut butter

  • Remove the extra peanuts on top if you're looking to shed off a few calories

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 5 dates, chopped

  • 1/3 cup organic maple syrup

  • 1 cup reduced fat milk

  • 85g natural peanut butter

  • toppings: 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (melted) and 1/4 cup chopped peanuts

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350

  2. Prepare a nonstick muffin tray with either liners or by spraying it with olive oil spray

  3. Mix all of your ingredients together, besides the topping. Scoop about 2 tbsp into each slot on your muffin tray

  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the muffin is firm

  5. Top with melted dark chocolate and peanut bits
